I'm sure they are also doing other things, so you might want to
check out their websites.

Re: Red Pandas found in Langtang National Park

cool but what is being done to save the red pandas

Re: Red Pandas found in Langtang National Park

i think the red panda is so cute. where can i get one??

Re: Red Pandas found in Langtang National Park

Ha! Here are a few ways to actively help save the red pandas from extinction:

-- Go to The Red Panda Project's website, http://www.redpandanetwork.org/ and click on "Get Involved." Among other things, you can "volunteer your time for various tasks related to the project, that include field research and monitoring." Right now it doesn't seem like they have any specific volunteer opportunities posted, but maybe if you check back frequently you will find some. The Red Panda Project apparently does a lot of different things to help the pandas (research, conservation, education), so maybe if you contact them they will find something for you to do.

-- If you live in the UK near the city of Birmingham, you could apply to volunteer at the Birmingham Nature Centre. Their website is http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/GenerateContent?CO... . They house many animals, including the red panda.

-- These organizations and other zoos give you the opportunity to "adopt" a red panda.

-- You could throw your own fundraiser for the Red Panda.

-- Here's a project I found on WWF.org (go to http://www.panda.org/about_wwf/where_we_work/as... to find it) that takes place in Sikkim, India. The project's objectives are to 1. Understand the conservation status of the red panda in Sikkim, 2. Strategise for long-term conservation of the red panda, and 3. Conduct feasibility for reintroductions of the red panda in order to create populations in identified sites. Maybe if you're in the area you could help them somehow. I suppose it couldn't hurt to contact them.

I hope this helps! Good luck helping the red pandas.

Re: Red Pandas found in Langtang National Park

What are the ways and means to protect red panda's?(apart from donating)
