    F'n cruel, and bad science too.

    Conditioning also might have induced other behavioral alterations from the shock of the island within the fishbowl treatment.

    But, yeah, REM sleep is good, and certainly at maintaining a slew of mental abilities as well as physical resilience. (post rem sleep I believe is good too).
